Self Defense for Women and Girls
IPDI
offers instruction in self defense to women —
12 to 75+ years old. Designed especially for women,
our 2-day course offers a set of awareness, assertiveness,
and verbal confrontation skills with safety strategies
and physical techniques that enable someone to successfully
escape, resist and survive violent attacks.
There is a degree of physical work involved in practicing
the techniques. However our goal is to present the information
to you, and to have you learn and practice within your
comfort-range. This class is designed for all women
and is ideal for students, teens, mothers and seniors
alike. Course participants are required to complete
both a Physical
Fitness Form and a Waiver
Form.
Each of the two-day sessions is four hours in length.
Classes are held at two locations: the Tucson
Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (823 East Speedway,
Tucson, AZ) and SAIAT
(3000 East Valencia Road, Tucson, AZ), or elsewhere,

radKids® Personal Empowerment
Safety Education Program for Children — Boys &
Girls
IPDI
is a certified provider of the radKIDS® Personal Empowerment
Safety Education Program — a 10-hour family centered
safety education program that emphasizes essential decision-making
skills as well as physical resistance options to escape
violence. Children from 5-12 years of age participate
in the program with their adult partners to create a true
safety partnership.
Studies show that proactive responses (such as those techniques
taught by radKIDS®) are most effective for avoiding
would-be abductors.
Other safety programs give children general guidance rules,
show videos or simply "talk" to the children.
radKIDS® is dedicated to providing our children with
a hands-on, activity-based physical skill development
program empowering our children with options, not fear.
radKIDS® provides our children with the instinctual
options they need to recognize, avoid and if necessary
respond to potential danger in their world today. radKIDS®
has always believed, and it is further proved by the NCMEC
study, that the first few seconds of a potentially violent
encounter are critical. When a child is approached or
grabbed, the response needs to be immediate, instinctual
and absolute.
This instinctual response can be "taught" and
enhanced through individual demonstration, training and
practice. radKIDS® is dedicated to providing communities
and families the tools they need to teach and empower
your children with realistic options in their own personal
safety.
Through radKIDS® training, children become empowered,
learning to replace the fear, confusion, and panic of
dangerous situations with confidence, personal safety
skills and self-esteem.
Key
Defender
Key Defender is an aerosol defense spray manufactured
by ASP. In layman's term, it's a “pepper spray”.
The product has the same strength as what police departments
use. ASP is a very well known company to all law enforcement
agencies.
The product is made for sale to the public. It comes in
a variety of colors. The price of the Key Defender is
$30.00, and none will be sold without the proper instruction
in the use of the product.
