ID your issues-Past experiences can affect how you view and judge you present situations. Understanding your own issues is crucial—so they’ll work for you and ultimately help you spot a toxic relationship and t your chances for a better one.

Don’t let these foods keep you up!

Eating certain foods a’ certain times can spur physiological changes that make it almost impossible to doze off, says Alon V. Avid M.D., MPH, Try avoiding:

Coffee and chocolate after noon.
Reach for them in the afternoon to pick up your energy, and their caffeine will still be coursing through your bloodstream for hours afterward!
Instead: Eat celery with peanut butter. The protein from the peanuts revs your metabolism, and the crunch from the celery helps you stay sharp and keeps you alert without interfering with sleep.

Milk and other dairy products after dinner!
Although they have a reputation as natural sleep aids, the truth is that dairy foods get the adds churning in your stomach, keeping you awake! instead: Have some lean turkey Like milk, turkey is loaded with tryptophan, an amino acid your body needs to make the brain chemical that slows your nervous system before sleep—but turkey won’t upset your stomach!

Have a “sleepy” cookie!
What’s that? One made with oatmeal, granola or other whole grains. The complex carbohydrates in these types of cookies will steady your blood sugar, helping you to relax and stay relayed all through the night!

Media player

For music geeks like myself, one of the hassles of packing for a trip used to be deciding which CDs to bring for my Discman. With the advent of high-capacity MP3 players, that is thankfully a thing of the past. The newer generation MP3 players have more than enough storage space to fit in your entire music collection, provided you’re diligent in maintaining your music and media library. Some even have video capability, for those willing to invest the time to digitize and convert movies, TV episodes, music videos and the like.

These days it seems that every electronics manufacturer is offering a portable media player of some kind. Of course, the more popular units are the iPod made by Apple. But one of the things that the iPod lacks is the connectivity offered by the extensive suite of Microsoft software and hardware products. That is where the Microsoft Portable Media Player comes in, and it can offer something that no other media player can offer. The Microsoft Portable Media Player offers the easy internet connectivity, and operating software, that you have come to know and understand for years offered by Microsoft. The Apple iPod and iTouch, in their various incarnations, are still the market leaders in this field, and they have their fans. but other manufacturers such as Creative, Sony, Samsung and Philips offer similar players. Again, choosing one that fits your needs is merely a mailer of being a smart shopper, collecting all the information before making your purchase.

Surviving Christmas Shopping

Christmas shopping for most Filipinos is not retail therapy. It requires a pair of strong legs, keen eyes and a single-minded determination to get what you want in so little time and sometimes, on a limited budget.

For many Filipinos, shopping for Christmas gifts can be a nightmare but there are those who actually enjoy the experience.

So what o you do if you’re one of those who look at Christmas shopping as a chore instead of something to look forward to? Strategize!

Here are some ways to make that experience less excruciating and more
pleasurable:

Wear comfortable shoes. Flip flops and strappy sandals are not comfortable. They will chafe the skin of your feet within an hour and you’ll end up with ugly and painful blisters. Wear trainers or well-fitting walking shoes as you’ll be on your feet for hours.

Ideally, you should be weafin socks as they protect the feet. Remember at the malls and bazaars are very crowded and someone could step on you so open-toed footwear is a big no-no.

Plan ahead. For Christmas shopping, always have a list and check it. This is not the time for impulse buying. Make a list of people you’re buying presents for and before going to the mall, think about what you will buy for them.
